NumberForm
Formats approximate real numbers for display.
NumberForm[expr_, n_]
NumberForm[expr_, {n_, f_}, opts___]or just
NumberForm[expr_]In {n, f}, n is the number of significant digits and f is the number of
digits to the right of the decimal point.
Frontend evaluation
NumberForm can be evaluated on the frontend inside Offload,
including conversion with ToString and padding with NumberPadding. This is
useful for dynamically updated text that must keep a fixed number of digits:
value = 2;
TextView[
NumberForm[value, {3, 0}, NumberPadding -> "0"] // ToString // Offload
]Keep the unformatted value for calculations and apply NumberForm only when
producing output.
